Canada 150

May 2017

The Art Mad Artists were inspired to create artwork to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday! In April, the artists each painted or used watercolour pencils to produce provincial flowers in their own style. The pieces were later composited as a poster to bring all the provinces together in art and nature. 'Canada Blooms' was displayed at the AMA's group show at the Kanata-Carleton Cultural Festival at the Earl of March Secondary School in May 2017.

Special thanks to the organizer of the group effort, Ruby Hulshof and also to Anthony Hulshof for providing graphic art skills to make the poster come together.

November 2017

The Stittsville Branch of the Ottawa Public Library proposed a 'Canada 150 Mosaic Tile Art Display'. Each artist was provided a 6" x 6" canvas to create whatever they wished, in any medium; describing their feelings of what at heart, was Canada. The panels were assembled in a lovely panorama at the library for two months in 2017. It was wonderful being a part of the celebration and sharing individual creativity in a group effort.
