I was born in Pointe Claire, Quebec and grew up with the very strong influence of my mother's artistic talent. As an oil painting and watercolour artist and Interior designer, she encouraged my interest in the fine arts early in life. During high school and university I took many fine arts courses experimenting in a variety of mediums.
As a
primary school teacher, teaching youngsters to appreciate their
artistic talents was the highlight of each week. As a grandmother to
seven, I love to encourage the kids to paint, colour, build and
create whenever I get the chance.
Upon retirement, I searched out the Art Mad watercolour classes and have continued to enjoy the company of the Art Mad Artists today at the Stittsville Public Library.
I really enjoy and eagerly await both my watercolour and coloured pencil classes that all started with Art Mad. The information we gather, the different techniques we share with each other and the camaraderie of our group, all insures that I look forward to these sessions every week! It makes me wonder why I didn't start getting more involved year ago!
